Abstract
This is a series of lectures. Our objective is to
study the papers "The polynomial X2+Y4 captures its primes"
by John Friedlander & Henryk Iwaniec
and "Primes represented by X3+2Y3" by Roger
Heath-Brown. Both papers make use of many advanced techniques in analytic
number theory and they represent monumental breakthroughs in the quest for
counting primes in sparse sequences.
