In this lecture, we would like to present a few topics in complex geometry related to rigidity.  The first one is about superrigidity of representation of lattices of a semi-simple Lie group in a mapping class group.  The second one is on several geometric and arithmetic aspects of smooth compact complex two ball quotients.
