Toric degeneration of quotients and moduli spaces

Abstract
Geometry of toric varieties can be read off from their corresponding combinatorial data, therefore it is desirable to know whether a given variety can be deformed or degenerated to a toric variety. We will explain, in this talk, that this can be achieved for many quotient and moduli spaces, in particular, all GIT quotients of flag manifolds, and the moduli space of stable pointed rational curves.
