Will discuss, from scratch, the relations, discovered in the last few decades, of differential equations to algebraic geometry, such as Hill's equation, the Korteweg-deVries equation (KdV) for waves, the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation (KP), and the self-dual Yang-Mills equation.
