Abstract

Assume that G0 is a real semi-simple Lie group with a complexification G. The orbits of G0 in the (full) flag variety of G are important in the representation theory of G0. In this talk, we will concentrate on the case when G0 = SU(p, q) and G = SL(n, C). We will explain some known results on a parameter set and the number of G0-orbits. We will give defining (in)equalities for the G0-orbits and explain some  results on intersections of G0-orbits with Bruhat cells.
