Abstract

Symplectic birational geometry studies uniruled manifolds and uniruled submanifolds. This talk will focus on uniruled submanifolds. The main conjecture is that there is a dichotomy for such a special submanifold depending on its normal bundle. Namely, if the normal bundle is non-negative in some sense, the ambient manifold should be uniruled. Otherwise, there should be a symplectic surgery to remove the submanifold. We will present a solution to the conjecture for the case of divisor.
