Complex oscillation theory and special functions

Abstract

Complex oscillation theory is a study of the value distribution aspect of entire function solutions 
of certain complex linear differential equations in the complex plane by Nevanlinna's value 
distribution theory. We shall give a survey of this area and show how it is related to special 
function equations with four regular singular points on the Riemann sphere.
